Under 15s 5 Gowerton Juniors 2

Saturday 17th August 2013

Squad: Owen Flowers, Cian Bateman, Keir Mehta, Alex Goddard, Aled Evans, Tim Thomas, Rhys Tiplady, Rhys Austin, Owen Williams, Rory Johns, Dylan Nicholas-Clark, Dafydd Williams, Kyan Koszalski-Evans, Jack Gilmore-Jones, Liam Jones and Sam Morris.

In their second pre-season run out, Llangennech's new signings impressed and eventually won the battle against Gowerton's counter attacking game.

The visitors sat deep in the first half as Llan dominated possession.  However the first goal was scored from a break-away with the home defence caught flat footed for the through ball.

Llan kept playing a neat passing game and eventually got a reward for their first half efforts when Dylan Nicholas-Clark scored after a goal mouth scramble.

There were aspects of our game which showed we still need to improve and our defence was once again caught napping when Gowerton broke through to score a 2nd ten minutes into the second half.

But pleasingly, Llan continued to play and it wasn't long before they were level when Dylan grabbed his second of the match.

The impressive Owen Williams then combined superbly with Tim and Dylan for Tim's weekly contribution to the scoresheet.  This was an excellent passing move which was applauded by spectators of both sides.

Owen then got onto the scoresheet himself, shooting from range with his weaker left foot, finding the bottom corner of the net.

To complete the victory, Jack Gilmore-Jones made a timely back post run to connect with Owen's cross with five minutes to go.

This was a match that could have gone either way but Llangennech's teamwork in the second period saw them comfortably come out on top by the final whistle.
