15s Hitting Form

Saturday 22nd March 2014

Our under 15s recorded their second win in as many weeks by beating Ammanford 3-1 at the Rec.

Squad:  Owen Flowers, Dafydd Williams, Alex Goddard, Aled Evans, Ciaran Melly, Tim Thomas, Rhys Tiplady, Liam Jones, Jacob Owens, Jack Gilmore-Jones, Dylan Nicholas-Clark, Rhys Austin and Sam Morris.

An early Liam Jones free kick gave Llangennech the lead after just 6 minutes.  His shot from around 30 yards out squeezed past the keeper at the near post.

Llangennech then struggled to keep a grip on the game and Ammanford equalised after 14 minutes.  A lack of pressure on the ball in the midfield allowed the home side enough time to pick their pass and subsequent shot to equalise.

With the half time turnaround, Llan were afforded the advantage of the wind behind them.  They took the game to Ammanford who rarely ventured outside their own half.

However it wasn't until the 61st minute that Rhys Austin found himself in the right place at the right time to capitalise on the fumble from the goalkeeper to score from close range.

There was still time for Tim Thomas to add his customary goal to the scoresheet although the finish this time was unconvincing.  He bundled Dafydd Williams' corner over the line off his back.

It was pleasing to see the squad keep going despite the frustration of not being able to get back in front until the 61st minute.  They were however full value for the three points.
