Llangennech 2 Felinfoel 0

Tuesday 26th August 2014

The firsts got off to a good start with a dominant display against Felinfoel at the Park.

It was the first game being played at Llangennech Park since March and the pitch was in excellent condition.  Credit must go to the Community Council for the massive improvement.

Llan used the pitch to their advantage and passed the ball really well in the first half.  They eventually went 1-0 up after 30 minutes when Mike O'Mara squared the ball to Tom Harris on the edge of the area.  He made a good connection with his shot which the goalkeeper was unable to keep out.

In the second half, Llan started brightly again and added a second through Josh Burdess who worked hard all night.  The goalkeeper got a hand to his strike from 20 yards out but there was too much power in the shot to stop it entering the goal.

Foel pressed to get back into the game but were unable to carve a clear opening as Llan held their shape well even if they were a little sloppy with the ball at times towards the end of the half.  They restriucted Foel to only one shot on target from outside the area.

A good start for Llangennech who have the longest trip of the season ahead of them this Saturday when they travel to Whitland.
