Llangennech 1 Penllergaer 2

Saturday 17th January 2015

Llan are made to pay for missed chances as Penllergaer take the three points.

Team:  Martin Williams, Rhys Chinnock, Rhodri Parkman, Mike O'Mara, Darren Dickeson, Chris Evans, Curtis Roberts, Dan Phillips, Dan Breddy, Tom Harris, Adam Jones.  Subs:  Dan Evans, Llyr Parkman, Lewis Williams.

The teams last met in December with Llangennech coming from behind late on to take the points and Penllergaer earned their revenge in another tight fixture.

Penllergaer took the lead in the first twenty minutes from a breakaway move.  Leon Silitoe crossed from the right to find Nicky Moran who slotted home from 12 yards out.

Llan gradually grew in to the game but didn't really trouble the goalkeeper in the first period.

The pattern of play continued in the second half with Llan starting to create chances.  They looked to have scored through Dan Breddy but the referee deemed that the ball hadn't crossed the line.

As the goal wasn't awarded at one end, Penllergaer made their chances count at the other.  A free kick pumped into the box from the half way line was headed down for Nicky Moran to net his second.

Despite the setback, Llan continued to charge forward and were eventually rewarded with a goal throught Curtis Roberts who made no mistake hitting the target.

This game wasn't the prettiest but was keenly contested by two teams who always give each other a close game.
