Just Like Watching Brazil!
Monday 3rd May 2021
80 players across seven teams competed in Llan colours this weekend and there were plenty of good performances on display. We take a look at all the action below.
Another round of matches for our U6 players, the first back to back weekends of this difficult season, continuing at Coleg Sir Gar.
We had 2 teams out again on a bank holiday weekend and each of the little stars run for close to an hour. Development will come in time but what a sight seeing ten 4-6 year olds proudly wearing club colours and thoroughly enjoying these opportunities to play.
Squad: Riley K, Felix, Gabriel, Elai, Riley E, Harrison, Isaac, Ioan, Dafydd and Ollie
For the first time since starting, our U7's were able to field 2 teams.
The boys did very well and were competitive in each game.
Coach Mike O'Mara said, "It was good to see the boys taking skills they've learned in training and using them in the games they played today."
Squad: Steff, Evan, Theo N, Theo K, Eddie, Tomos, Osian and Josh
The U9's faced Gorseinon this weekend and put in a superb performance.
High pressing football and some amazing team moves saw outstanding goals scored, as coach Charlie described the action, "it was like watching Brazil!'
Each of the players should be proud of themselves after that display. Da iawn bois!
Squad: Ioan, Charlie, Macsen, Alfie, Jack, Leon, Zach, Oscar, Makai, Lola and Efan
Another early start for the Under 10s, playing Pontarddulais away in an 8:45am kick-off.
We always have a closely fought contest with Bont in our matches and it was great to see some sharp football played by both teams, with the addition of a couple of wonder strikes from distance.
Our boys continue to do themselves and their coaches and parents proud with some impressive football coming through. It's clear to see they are developing at pace now and all their hard work in training is coming together in improved performances.
Squad: Keaton, Daniel, Aled, Rocco, Ashton, Celt, Alfie, Jayden, Ellis, Evan, Jacob, Jac, Riley and Ariandas
Llan bounced back from last weekend's performance in emphatic style against Pembrey.
An excellent performance from all involved, with some great team goals including 5 for George and a hattrick each for Steffan & Rhys.
Coach, Curtis Roberts had a lot of praise for Mason Grey as his work rate and team effort massively impressed.
Squad: Steff, Rhys, George, Gruff, Tyler, Harlyn, Gethin, William, Jack J, Jack N, Mason, Oliver and Keaton
The U12's faced Pontarddulais this weekend and were beaten 5-1.
Llangennech lacked the grit they’ve shown in previous games and struggled to get any continuity going.
New boy, Cai D was the stand out player for the coach, Justin Williams. It was also nice to see Daniel F making his debut with his silky skills.
Justin said, "A vast improvement is needed if we want to get back to winning ways."
Squad: Jack W, Dylan E, Cai G, Cai D, Ronnie G, Ollie B, Ollie l, Daniel F, Noah J, Tom H, Steff P and Junior N
Returning to play for the first time since the lockdown, the U13's squad was under a bit of pressure with injuries meaning they had just 12 players to take to Pontarddulais
After going 1-0 down early on, Llan applied lots of pressure but failed to make it count as Bont hit on the break to double their advantage going into half-time.
In the second half, Llan fought hard and scored two goals through Ashton and Will to level the game with some lovely football.
Another route one ball caught out the Llangennech defence. Then, as legs began to tire, Llan conceded two more to lose 5-2.
Coach, Jimmy said, "I was pleased with many parts of the performance as it was their first game on a full-size pitch with full-size goals. It leaves us with great potential to build for the future."
Squad: Jay P, Jac B, Alfie H, Evan W, Owain T, Cameron, Jayden P, Leon J, Nicky J, Ethan H, Ashton and Will E
