Double Header again for Seniors

Friday 20th August 2021

After two excellent wins last week, the senior teams will be looking to build on good form to maintain a positive start to the 2021/22 league campaign.

Llangennech vs Camford – Friday 20th August, 6:15pm

Last Saturday saw the firsts put in a strong performance away at Drefach to take home the three points. Morgan Lewis and Gavin Williams were the scorers in a dogged display that saw the away side concede two penalties but still come out on top. Ross Robinson saved the first but was unable to deny Drefach forward, Kieran Waters at the second attempt. Thankfully for Llangennech, the late penalty was only a consolation as they came out victorious in a 2-1 win.

Tonight’s opponents, Camford, lost in their previous fixture, 3-2 to Felinfoel who led 3-0 at one stage. Camford pulled two goals back through Jordon Evans and Mario Amato. The latter scoring in the previous encounter between Camford and Llangennech just three weeks ago.

It was a closely fought encounter at the beginning of the season. With Llangennech leading until the 84th minute when Amato slotted home the equaliser. Llan will be looking to take all three points tonight, having won both matches since the sides' earlier meeting.

Llangennech take on Camford at Llangennech Park this evening in a 6:15pm kick-off.

Johnstown Reserves vs Llangennech Reserves – Saturday 21st August, 2:30pm

The reserves come into their fixture against Johnstown in good form after two wins from their opening two games. A 4-1 away win at Tumble was followed by a 2-0 home win over Kidwelly Reserves last Friday night. David Thomas broke the deadlock with an excellent strike into the top corner from outside the box. Liam Fry then fired home after beating three defenders inside the box to double the advantage.

Johnstown will not be short of confidence either after their opening game victory over Camford Reserves. As a Callum Lewis brace saw them win 2-1 and pick up three points in their first match of the new season.

Llangennech Reserves travel to Johnstown tomorrow afternoon for a 2:30pm kick-off.
