Llangennech Make Double Swoop

Sunday 7th September 2008

Llangennech have today completed the signings of two of their former players in the shape of Emyr Williams and Christian Williams from Trostre and Llanelli respectively.

Former club captain Emyr returns on the back of three years away with Premier League clubs and has previous Welsh League experience with Porth Tywyn Suburbs.  He is capable of playing any position through the middle of the field but is most at home as a central defender.

Christian, known as Scissors or Blocker has spent the majority of the last four years at Premier League side Camford.  He is a several times winner of Llan's First Team Manager's Player of the Season award and can play as a sweeper or a full back.

Joint First Team Manager Simon Davies was understandably happy with the latest signings.  "It's nice to welcome back two former players.  I think it shows the club is moving in the right direction.  We've had a good start to the season with wins for both teams but the added competition for places that this creates will be a bonus and hopefully it will have a knock-on affect on the numbers turning up for training as well."

The First Team take to the field on Tuesday night away to Pembrey with players meeting in the Castle at 5pm for a 6pm kick off.  We will be changing in Glan y Mor School before making our way to the pitch.  If you are unavailable or going straight there please contact the Management asap.

The Second Team have a long journey on Wednesday night when they visit Llansteffan.  We will be leaving the Castle at 5pm for this game which is a 6pm kick off.  It is especially important to let the management know of your availability for this game and whether you are going straight there.  Directions are given courtesy of Google at the link below.
