Star Cup Draw

The draw for the group stage of the Star Cup has been made.  This season there will be four groups of 5 contesting for the top two places which will ensure a place in the quarter finals.  Llangennech have been drawn in Group 1 of the competition alongside one Premier League team, one Division One team and Two Division Two teams.

Group matches are to be played between Saturday 28th July and Wednesday 15th August before the commencement of the quarter finals.

Llangennech have arranged their fixtures favorably, negotiating the maximum three Saturday fixtures.  Due to the current work going on at Llangennech Park, all matches will be played at the opponents home venue.

The matches will unfold as follows:
Saturday 28th July 2007 - Llanelli Radicals
Saturday 4th August 2007 - Calsonic Kansei
Saturday 11th August 2007 - Camford Sports
Wednesday 15th August 2007 - West End

The Llanelli Star Challenge Cup Competition Committee also told clubs that all players must be re-registered with their clubs 7 days before the first cup match if they are to be eligible to play in that match.  This is due to the new FIFA/FAW One Player, One Club rule which comes into place across the globe this season.  Players must now re-sign for clubs at the beginning of every season at all levels of the game.
