First Summer Soccer Saturday A Success

Sunday 15th July 2007

Llangennech Football Club held their first Junior Football Morning at Llangennech Junior School on Saturday 14th July and immediatley hailed it as a major success.

Around 40 youngsters from the ages of 5 to 13 turned up to the event which was enjoyed by both children and parents.

Early signs are that an Under 6's side is an almost certainty whilst other age groups are just short of enough players to form teams.

It was therefore decided to answer parent's pleas and hold the event every Saturday morning.  Hopefully we will be able to reach an agreement with the school to do this; otherwise we will look to use the park.

The club now hopes to attract more and more youngsters every week as word gets out amongst the community of the enjoyment had by the children this weekend.

Check back to the website during the week for updates on next weekend's venue.  Alternatively, if we have not already captured your contact details then you can fill in the form on the junior section page.

As the numbers increase week by week we will be needing more and more volunteers to help out with coaching and organising.  If you are interested in becoming a coach please let us know, either by filling the form out on the junior section page or by e-mailing me at martin.williams@llangennechafc.org.

A major role that needs to be filled is that of Junior Secretary.  This will involve meeting with the club's committee on the first Thursday of every month at The Castle Inn in Bridge Street.  You will be the lead organiser of the Junior Section and will feed back to the committee on any matters that need addressing, as well as the committee being able to communicate with players, coaches and parents involved with the juniors through you.  If you are interested please e-mail me at the above e-mail address.
