Dafen 'A' 1 Reserves 3
Saturday 7th March 2009
After last weeks lacksture performance Llangennech Reserves were looking to rectify the mistakes made in this Saturdays game against Dafen who were positioned in second place in the table.
Another shaky ten minutes for the reserves in the match played at Dafen Park as Llangennech Park was unavailable saw us go 1 - 0 down but then a great team performance saw us pick up another three points.
Llangennech's first goal came from Keiran Davies who had one of his best games this season so far as he took the ball round the keeper and slotted it back in the net.
The defence was unfamiliar to recent games but became a strong back four with Lugs slotting in at right back having a good game and played some wicked balls into the box from set plays which always looked threatning to the away team.
Llangennech's second goal came from by the corner flag where Simon Wheeler ran out wide and passed the ball to Wyn Rees who crossed the ball to the far post where Tom Ballad scored heading into the top corner to make it 2-1.
Llangennech pressed forward for a long time creating many chances and many balls played into dangerous positions by Chris Coslett whilst Dafen were having little look in and became more and more frustrated.
Llangennech's third goal came from Keiron Davies running through on goal only to be foiled by the goalkeeper but the ball came out to the edge of the box and Craig Anderson was on hand to cooly slot the ball in the back of the net.
Finding ourselves 3-1 up Craig dedcided to make two substitutions for Llangennech with Shaun Dean and Richard Morgan coming on for Craig Anderson and Wyn Rees and with five minutes to go of the match Richard Morgan was gifted a glorious chance of making it 4-1 but he managed to place the ball over the crossbar much to his dismay.
Manager Craig Anderson and captain Mike O'Mara were both pleased with the performance and look forward to the next three points from the next game.
Team: Dom Holt, Lee Evans, Adam Edwards, Mike O'Mara, Gary Thomas, Simon Wheeler, Tom Ballard, Wyn Rees, Chris Coslett, Keiran Davies, Craig Anderson. Subs: Shaun Dean, Richard Morgan.
