Killay 2 Llangennech 4

Saturday 7th March 2009

With Dean Williams, Curtis Roberts and Nathan Phillips unavailable, the management were forced into three changes.  In came Ian Morgan, Mike Jones and Gavin Williams to the starting line-up.

Team:  Martin Williams, Alex Dakin, Christian Williams, Ian Morgan, Steffan Cook, Tom Harris, Rhys Wakely, Darren Dickeson, Mike Jones, Gavin Williams, Dai Thomas.  Subs:  Paul Thomas, Richard Thomas.

Llangennech took the lead from the penalty spot after Dai Thomas was tripped by the goalkeeper.  Gavin Williams slotted the penalty past the goalkeeper.

After winning the penalty, Dai Thomas then doubled Llangennech's lead with a curling shot past the goalkeeper before half time.

Killay threatened a come-back early on in the second half when they scored a neat header from a cross into the box.

Within five minutes the two goal cushion was restored with Gavin Williams and Dai Thomas linking up superbly to give Gav the chance to score his second of the game.

With ten minutes remaining a mistake by the Llangennech goalkeeper provided a Killay forward with an easy opportunity to score to make it a tense finish.

But the next goal went to Llan when the hard working Tom Harris was fouled in the box.  Darren Dickeson stepped forward with regular taker Gavin Williams off the pitch and he made it 4-2.

The win takes Llan 3rd and with the top two not playing today closes the gap on the promotion places.
