Llangennech 8 Bancffosfelen 0

Saturday 4th April 2009

The managers made one change from the team that defeated Killay in midweek, Rhys Wakely replacing Nathan Phillips with Alex Dakin moving back to left back and Wakely playing on the wing.

Team:  Martin Williams, Christian Williams, Alex Dakin, Steffan Cook, Ian Morgan, Tom Harris, Rhys Wakely, Darren Dickeson, Chris Coslett, Dai Thomas, Gavin Williams.  Subs:  Mike Jones, Paul Thomas, Dan Evans.

Llangennech took the lead in the tenth minute when Chris Coslett provided the composed finish to a fine run and cross from Gavin Williams.

Ian Morgan then added a second with a free header at goal which was powerful enough for the defender on the post to be unable to prevent it entering the net.

Chris Coslett then added his second and Llan's third of the match with a header before Tom Harris' goal gave Llangennech a 4-0 lead at half time.

After the break, Gavin Williams scored from the penalty spot after Dai Thomas was fouled in the box.  Thomas then scored a goal of his own after finding himself in acres of space on the edge of the penalty area and beating the keeper.

Tom Harris scored a seventh for Llan before Dai Thomas added the eighth with a far post diving header from the latter's cross.

Llangennech are now six points clear in second place with a game in hand over third placed Penllergaer.  They are also six points off top with a game in hand over Jays.

On Tuesday they travel to Penygaer to play Tafarn United who allways provide a tough match.  Llangennech players are asked to meet at the Castle at 5pm for the 6pm kick off, or let one of the Managers know if you are going straight there.
