Reserves 7 Porth Tywyn 3

Friday 10th April 2009

Craig Anderson resisted the temptation to use any First Team players for this game, instead prefering to use the players who have achieved one of the best points totals of the Reserve side for many seasons.

Team:  Dom Holt, Richard Morgan, Adam Edwards, Gary Thomas, Lee Evans, Daniel Evans, Dai Lewis, Wyn Rees, Tom Ballard, Craig Anderson, Jonathan Dakin.  Subs:  Shaun Dean, Ashley Bowen, Johnny Rees, Simon Wheeler.

Daniel Evans gave Llan the lead after ten minutes when he found himself in yards of space at the far post from a Tom Ballard corner, his finish giving the keeper no chance.

Lee Evans then doubled Llan's lead from close range following a corner, before Dan Evans popped up again in the same place producing a similar finish for his second and Llan's third of the match.

Llangennech conceded a penalty at the other end which was well taken to send the home side in 3-1 at the break.

In the second half Craig Anderson slotted his shot under the goalkeeper when one on one to make it 4-1.  Jonathan Dakin added the fifth with a low shot from 20 yards.  Wyn Rees added the sixth after the keeper parried a long range effort straight into his path, before Dai Lewis completed the scoring for Llan.

At the other end, lack of concentration and shape cost Llangennech two goals but they had done enough by then to secure the three points.

A few highlights from the first half will appear on the website in the next few days.
