Bancffosfelen 2 Llangennech 3
Sunday 26th April 2009
Llangennech secured a twentieth league win of the season away to Bancffosfelen on Saturday. Goals from Tom Harris, Chris Coslett and an own goal gave them a 3-2 win.
Team: Martin Williams, Christian Williams, Nathan Phillips, Ian Morgan, Steffan Cook, Tom Harris, Alex Dakin, Darren Dickeson, Chris Coslett, Gavin Williams, Dai Thomas. Subs: Nick Maguire, Curtis Roberts.
It was Bancffosfelen who scored the game's opening goal after half an hour. A corner wasn't sufficiently cleared by the Llan defence allowing a home player to fire the ball through a crowd of players into the net.
As it turned out the game was effectively won for Llangennech in a five minute purple patch at the end of the first half. Tom Harris fired a shot after holding off a Banc defender finding the bottom corner.
Two minutes later Chris Coslett reacted first to Dai Thomas' shot coming back off the post to put Llan ahead. Banc then scored an own goal to give a two goal cushion going into the second half.
In the second period, Banc pulled a goal back after around ten minutes of the half through an own goal by Llangennech.
The win means Llan can secure promotion to Division Two with a win next Saturday when they play Carway at Penygaer (due to cricket at the park).
