Hendy 2 Under 14's 8

Saturday 20th June 2009

Llangennech Under 14's continued their early pre-season with a win away to Hendy.  With 19 players available we were almost able to field two seperate sides in each half.

Team:  Josh Watkins, Josh Evans, Callum Jenkins, BariƟ Hakman, Mark Evans, Kieran Partridge, Jordan Saunders, Dafydd Green, Rhys Evans, Corrie Jenkins, Ben Wakely.  Subs:  Steffan Lund, Liam Williams, Sam Evans, Zach Tinnuche, Josh Pritchard, Clayton Fuge, Steff Edwards, Corrie Morris.

Corrie Jenkins opened the scoring for Llan supplying a good finish to a Jordan Saunders through ball.  But Llan were caught knapping and within a minute it was 1-1.  Corrie Jenkins then supplied two further excellent finishes to score his hat-trick and Jordan Saunders grabbed himself a goal after the Hendy goalkeeper parried a Rhys Evans shot.  Corrie Jenkins could have had a fourth goal before the break but was denied by an outstanding save by the goalkeeper.

At the break, Llan made eight changes to their team in order to give everyone a game, and their domination of the ball continued limiting Hendy to counter attacks, with our midfield not so keen to do the running back!  Having said that in going forward all four midfield players caused plenty of problems for the Hendy defence.  Zach Tinnuche, Sam Evans and Corrie Morris each grabbed a goal and Liam Williams can consider himself unlucky not to have got on the scoresheet due largely to more excellent goalkeeping.  Hendy pulled a goal back to make it 7-2 with five minutes left. Josh Pritchard scored Llan's eigth goal after being put through by Steffan Lund.

Training is now on Tuesday's in Llangennech Junior School between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, this is a temporary venue until the park pitch is re-seeded.
