u14's win Hendy Tournament

Llangennech kicked off their opening fixture in style smashing five past the hosts Hendy. In a competitive opening half Llan found it difficult to get going. But five minutes before half time, Jordan Saunders' trickery out wide fooled a Hendy defender resulting in a penalty. Corrie Jenkins stepped up and scored the spot kick. Just before the interval the lead was doubled as Corrie Jenkins turned provider for strike partner Jordan Davies who finished well finding the top corner from a tight angle.

Early in the second half captain Dafydd Green ensured the win heading in Corrie Jenkins' near post corner. With the game won Llan knocked the ball around well - leading to Corrie Jenkins' second goal. From out wide the striker cut inside and curled the ball expertly into the top far corner. Late on, midfielder Jordan Frampton rounded off the win with a accurate low strike past the goalkeeper.

Fixture 2:

Gowerton 1-0 Llangennech

Llan slipped up in their second match vs Gowerton. In a hard fought match the only game came after a long throw into the penalty area was not dealt by the Llan defence. After a collision between goalkeeper and attacker the ball landed to a Gowerton player to loft into the empty net.

During an improved second half display Llan came back strongly time and time again but were denied anthing from the match missing several opportunities late on. Despite the committed performance, Llan now needed to win the remaining group match to progress into the final.

Fixture 3:

Bont 0-2 Llangennech
               Corrie Jenkins 2

With the pressure on and a win needed an energetic start saw Llan control the opening half. With the aid of the wind a long ball over the top reached Corrie Jenkins, his attempted flick inside was handed in the area given Llan a second penalty. Corrie Jenkins again scored low into the corner.

Stand in goalkeeper Jordan Saunders had a quiet game thanks to a solid defensive effort, but commanded his area well collecting a number of high balls. Llan won the group and clinched their place in the final midway into the second half thanks to another Corrie Jenkins strike. Corrie finished well one on one against the goalkeeper, racing onto a neat through ball.

Final:

Llan defeated Bont for the second time to win the Tournament after penalties. In a tense shootout, goalkeeper Jordan Saunders saved two penalties and then kept his nerve to smartly strike the winning penalty to win it 4-3.
