Disappointing Defeat To Pontarddulais

Monday 14th September 2009

Llangennech Under 14's suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Pontarddulais on Monday night in their second league game.

With key players and the manager missing for this match, it was always going to be a tough ask to get something from the game but for the opening 20 minutes we looked the better team and had some excellent chances with the Bont keeper doing well to keep the game goal-less.

Unfortunately the re-jig in positions, while strengthening us in some departments, left us exposed in others and once we went one goal down, our heads went down and the floodgates opened.

We know we are a much better team than what we showed tonight, and we've got to learn that when we go a goal down the game isn't over.  The contrast between the first twenty minutes and the last 50 was so great you wouldn't have believed it was the same team.

We now have to pick ourselves up and win back some pride against Ammanford at the Park on Saturday.  Kick off is at 10:30am so we will meet in the park at 9:30am.

Team:  Jordan Saunders, Mark Evans, Josh Evans, Dafydd Green, Jordan Frampton, Kieran Partridge, Leon Morris, Nathan Baker, Jack Evans, Jordan Davies, Baris Hakman.  Subs:  Steffan Lund, Steffan Edwards, Ben Wakely.
