A lack of effort and awareness saw Llan fall behind 2-0 within the first twenty minutes of this match. Two crosses out wide weren't prevented and the marking in the area was eually poor as Dafen raced into a 2-0 goal lead. However, Llan began to believe they could get something from the game and had two good chances through Dafydd Green but both went narrowly wide.
Some stern words at half time seemed to spurr the team on as they continued to move forward with some good attacking play. It wasn't long before Macauly Simon halfed the deficit after a superb run down the left beating two players then scoring from the edge of the area. Moments later the game was level when Dafydd Green went clear through the middle and calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner.
Unfortunately Llan didn't keep pushing aheadto try and win the game, and they paid the price with 15 minutes left as a shot from outside the area looped into the net. Llan attempted to get back into the game with new signing Lloyd Haines, Dafydd Green and Jack Evans linking up well - but gaps appeared and Dafen sealed the win late on making it 4-2. Inexperience told when a long ball came over the top with a Llan defender playing the attacker onside for him to beat the on rushing keeper.
The scoreline flattered Dafen as their fifth came with the last kick of the game. A good performance in parts but a 2-0 goal head start is difficult to play against. A win not too far away but we need to keep focused for the 90 minutes! Thanks to Jordan Saunders who played in goals also.
