Llan 1-1 Johnstown

After last week's disappointment it was important Llan gave a big performance against league champions Johnstown, and to the squads credit they did just that. In an even contest both defences looked strong in a first half which saw few chances for either team. Llan's best opening saw Jack Evans slide mdifield partner Liam Williams through, though his shot just missed the post from a wide angle, while Jordan Saunders was sharp to deny Johnstown at the other end by intercepting a pass and gathered well.

Much alike the first half both teams battled hard to find a way to goal, and Johnstown struck first from a set piece five minutes into the half. A brilliant in-swinging left footed corner teased Llan's keeper off his line and a Johnstown midfielder lost his marker to head in easily at the far post. However, Llan underterred gathered attacking momentum and troubled Johnstown through striker Haccha Rai who shot just over and Liam Williams who smashed the post after a determined run.

By this stage Llan were increasing pressure on Johnstown largely due to a much improved passing game missing from previous games. The reward came fifteen minutes from time as Liam Williams was bundled over in the area with Daf Green stepping up to score from the spot. Both teams pressed for a winner, Llan pushed another man up front and Johnstown were dangerous on the counter, but neither could find the decisive goal with it ending a draw.

A far better performance by the squad which we can take great confidence from and hopefully gather some momentum to put a run of results together with consistent performances.
