Llangennech 0-4 Teigrod

After the clubs two previous meetings this season both ending in exciting draws the cup final shaped up to be a tense encounter. This was true for the first half as both teams attempted to gain the upper hand but chances were limited at both ends.

The second half was taking a similar route until ten minutes later when Teigrod found a rythmn to there play and moved the ball very well in the middle of the park. Moments later Llan were punished for some sloppy defending, firstly conceding a free kick close to the area. The free kick was swung in superbly and a flick sent the ball into the far corner for the breakthrough. A minute later Llan had a mountain to climb as Teigrod got a important second in quick succession. Another set piece undone Llan as a corner was not cleared and the ball landed nicely for a Teigrod player to score.

Llan weren't going to give up without a fight and with fifteen minutes to go their best chances arrived. Jack Evans' solo run down the left touchline took him into the area but his close range shot was saved from a tight angle. Next, Hachha Rai was in a good position in the area but opted to pass instead of shoot and the ball was cleared from danger.

Teigrod sealed the win stretching the scoreline to 3-0 five minutes later. The ball was left to bounce and the Teigrod striker sprinted through to poke the ball into the corner of the net. There was further bad news in the build up to the goal as Daf Green sustained an ankle injury and left in an ambulance, the game was delayed for a lengthy period but thankfully it was later confirmed that Daf suffered no break. When the match restarted Llan pushed forward in search of a consolation goal but Teigrod struck a fourth to confirm them as cup winners. Jordan Saunders kept the score at four when he saved well one on one in the dying moments.

On the day Teigrod played some very good football and were the deserved winners. Llangennech though, can be proud of their efforts and in reaching the cup final in there second season.
