Llan Finish Season on a High
Sunday 8th May 2011
Squad: Jordan Saunders, Bradley Hillier, Callum Jenkins, Baris Hakman, Sean Jewell, Jordan Frampton, Sam Evans, Zack Tinnuche, Liam Green, Kieran Partridge, Hachha Rai, Aaron Thomas, Sean Brinn - Davies.
Johnstown 0-1 Llangennech
Much credit must go to the squad who turned up for this match after the cup final defeat two days earlier. It was a brilliant display from the whole side to end the league season with a win against reigning champions Johnstown. A third successive clean sheet in the league was a major factor as Baris Hakman reverted to centre back along with the clinical finishing of Hachha Rai up front.
Llan showed quality in possession in this match as the balance in the midfield trio of Liam Green, Jordan Frampton and Kieran Partridge was a telling factor in the football they played on the floor. The team worked extremely hard as well and got there reward when Hachha Rai netted the only goal after twenty minutes. The ball was fed through to the midfield and Zack Tinnuche found Hachha Rai on the edge of the area with a low pass. Rai allowed the ball to come across him and side footed the ball superbly into the corner of the goal. Tinnuche was involved again five minutes later when Llan should have extended the lead after he won a penalty with his trickery inside the box. However, skipper Sean Jewell missed the target.
A excellent end to the league season which looks likely to result in a deserved third place finish. Hopefully the squad can take confidence from this year by taking it into their final season of junior football and challenge the top teams next campaign.
