U13's beat Banc to win the League

Friday 13th May 2011

Llangennech knew that a point from the home game with Bancffosfelen would give Llangennech Football club their first Championship in Junior football.

Llangennech have gone through the season scoring goals that could be created anywhere on the pitch. The defence of Llangennech looks more assured with every game and a lot of the passing moves were created here, Brandon Fuge at left back is strong and fast and more than once created chances for the players around him to push forward. Tim Thomas and Aaron Davies in the centre of defence look the best defensive partnership in the division and also prefer to play football than just lump the ball forward. Leon Morris at right back is also a solid player who you can rely on giving 100% in any game. The one thing Llangenench have shown this season is the strength they have throughout the squad. When replacements were made Ieuan Thomas, Owain Thomas in defence fitted in seamlessly adding strength and speed when needed.

Llangennech's midfield of Lloyd Francis, Fraser Dickson, Daniel Breddy, Callum Dawe, Jordan Badman, Tomos Arthur and Ross Howells have controlled games throughout the season with great energy, skill and composure and with a striker of Tom Roberts' quality up front, it is no surprise that Llangennech have gone through the season scoring at least a goal in every game.

In this game Llangennech played with pace and control, the half time score was 4-1. Tom Roberts (2), Fraser (1) and an own goal from a Callum Dawe corner.  Banc scored a goal with a low shot when Llangenench were 2-0 up, which Cai in goals didn't have a chance of saving, Cai looked very assured in goals throughout and his distribution on kicks and throw outs was outstanding. The second half saw Tom Roberts complete his hatrick and Fraser grab another. A great passing display of football by everyone on the pitch, saw Llangennech control the game.  Lloyd Francis and Callum Dawe in the centre of midfield provide solidity and vision that allows Fraser Dickson, Jordan Badman, Daniel Breddy and Tomos Arthur the opportunities to create chances going forward. On more than on occasion Jordan's pace meant he broke free from the Banc defenders to put in a dangerous cross. Tom Roberts' second hatrick in 5 days was well deserved as he ran down every ball passed through to him with his pace.

Final score: Llangennech 6 Bancffosfelin 1

This win crowned Llangennech under 13's as the league champions to follow last weeks cup success. Only a very good team can win a cup final and only an excellent team can win the league championship, to win both shows how good this team really is.

Aadm and I would like to thank all the parents for their support throughout the season, it is very appreciated and I personally would like to thank Adam for all the hard work and time he has put in coaching the boys all year.
