Classy Display Puts Llan In Contention

Tuesday 9th August 2011

Llangennech earned a superb 5-3 win over Dafen at the Park with a hat-trick from Dai Thomas added to goals from Jack James and Jonathan Dakin.

Team:  Ross Robinson, Tom Dakin, Ian Morgan, Steffan Cook, Niall Davies, Tom Harris, Okan Wilson, Lee Harriman, Jonathan Dakin, Dai Thomas, Jack James. Subs: Christian Williams, Mike Jones, Curtis Roberts.

The visitors were able to name former Manchester City Reserves striker Craig Frater in their starting line-up and the youngster was to prove a hand-full, bagging a hat-trick in a thrilling contest.

Jonathan Dakin opened the scoring for Llan after just 5 minutes from the spot after Dai Thomas was fouled.  Frater's fine volley for Dafen brought the teams level before half time.

Despite the striking pedigree of Dafen keeping Llan busy at one end it was the home side's strikeforce that stole the show in the second half.  Some fine attacking moves delighted the home support with the front two of Dai Thomas, Jack James and wingers Tom Harris and Okan Wilson frightening the Bluebirds back line every time they moved forward.

Thomas secured his hat-trick with James securing the win with Llan's fifth.  We now have Dafen, Llangennech and Felinfoel on 3 points in the group although Foel have a game in hand.  Llangennech's next game is against Greenfield Rovers on Monday 15th August at Llangennech Park.  Kick off is at 6pm.
