Llan 4-0 Gowerton
It was a positive start to pre - season in the first friendly by Llan defeating Gowerton comfortably. With almost a full squad Llan looked strong from the start and were bright during the early exchanges which saw Llan take the lead after ten minutes. Debutant Dan Covello latched onto Brad Hillier's lofted ball and cooly beat the keeper low into the net. Though, Gowerton posed a threat soon afterwards from a couple of set pieces but Llan were well organised in defence and coped well.
Llan stepped up the tempo and dominated the majority of the half showing what there capable of in flashes of brilliance. Combined with simple passing and fluid football it was a joy to watch, though there was a rustiness to aspects of the home sides play. It seemed only a matter of time before Llan added to there lead, however the crossbar denied both Baris and Jordan Frampton from corners, while Corrie Morris saw his header cleared off the line and Gowerton's goalkeeper made several good saves.
In the second half Llan did finally prove there dominance with three more goals. The first scored by the creative Jack Evans after he played a neat one two on the edge of the area then applying the finish. Subtitutes Corrie Morris and Corrie Jenkins made an impact with the other two goals from close range to complete the scoring. Callum Jenkins almost grabbed his first Llan goal with an ambitious effort from the half way line but again the crossbar got in the way.
In all a positive start with some pleasing aspects of the performance and some stuff to work on also. Pleased with the effort from all, next up is a tough game against Cwm Albion on Wednesday.
