Chairman's Welcome

On behalf of Llangennech Football Club may I welcome you to our website.  I hope you will find it enjoyable and informative to view.  The site is the focal point of our online presence with our Facebook and Twitter pages also constantly updating our members, supporters and visitors.

The club is run by an incredible group of proud and committed coaches, committee members, ex-players and dedicated parents, and new faces with new ideas are always welcome.

Llangennech Football Club has grown exponentially over the past several years.  Every year, the club aims to run two senior teams right down to under 6s minis teams; with mixed teams up to under 11s age group. This gives a great opportunity for both young boys & girls in the local community and surrounding areas to play football. The club also aims to run a Youth Team at under 18s, playing an important role in helping young players make the transition from our multiple-trophy winning junior section into our senior set up.

The club’s relatively brief history has seen its ups and downs, but recent seasons have brought unprecedented success to our club.  In 2012 the First Team achieved the club's highest ever league finish of 4th in Division One of the Carmarthenshire League, and the club claimed its first ever knockout competition silverware in lifting the Darch Cup in 2017.

Llangennech AFC recognises the role that it has to play in the local community and surrounding areas and we will work determinedly to secure facilities that our members deserve. The club is proudly a founding member and affiliated to the Llangennech & Bryn Sports Association wich is a community led group who aim to improve grass-roots facilities for all sports within the community.

The 2018/19 season will see the club run 6 junior and mini teams, with a youth, reserve and 1st team who will play in the Carmathenshire League, and also - for the first time - the club will be running a veterans team who will play friendly games on Sunday afternoons. This will be an opportunity for past players and affiliates to come and be part of the club in whatever capacity they feel fit enough to do!

We are very grateful for the many generous offers of support that have come our way both from local volunteers and businesses, without which we could not operate, and to reassure past and future sponsors that by sponsoring Llangennech A.F.C  you are contributing to the local community as a whole. Feel free to pop along to the “Llan Siro” to watch a game or two this season.

To finish, if you have any suggestions about possible improvements to this website, or wish to sponsor Llangennech A.F.C   please feel free to email at   media@llangennechafc.org

Many thanks

Emyr Williams
